I am an evolutionary biologist specialized in virus evolution and with a background in molecular and cell biology, population genetics, statistics, systems biology, sequence analysis, and phylogenetics. I have performed experimental work with different viruses, including vesicular stomatitis virus, HIV-1, hepatitis C virus, enteroviruses, noroviruses, adenoviruses, baculoviruses, bacteriophages, plant viruses, and viroids. My current research interests focus on viral emergence, virus-virus interactions, phage discovery, and oncolytic viruses.
